Air Fryer Vegetarian Falafel Recipe

These vegetarian falafels are a lighter take on the traditional Middle Eastern street food. They're high in protein and flavor because they're made with chickpeas, fresh herbs, and spices. Instead of deep frying, air fry them to make them crispy on the outside and tender on the inside while using less oil.

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 35 minutes

Instructions

  • Pulse chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper in a food processor until combined but still slightly chunky.
  • Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and stir in the flour and olive oil.
  • Form the mixture into 12 balls and slightly flatten to form patties.
  • Place patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.
  • Air fry for 12-15 minutes at 375°F, flipping halfway through, until crisp and golden brown.
